On September 3, NewJeans made its first public appearance after Min Hee-jin was removed from her position as CEO of Ador. The group attended the “2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week” held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.
Despite the internal turmoil within their agency, NewJeans members were seen working diligently, performing hand signals and hand gestures. They alternated between bright smiles and blank expressions.
Previously, on August 27, Ador held a board meeting and decided to replace Min Hee-jin with Kim Ju-young as the new CEO. Ador announced that Min Hee-jin would continue her role in producing NewJeans. However, Min Hee-jin contested this decision, stating that it was made without her consent and accusing Ador and HYBE of media manipulation.
Amid the controversy, fans have expressed concern for the members of NewJeans. On September 2, the members shared their feelings of confusion following Min Hee-jin’s removal through the fan communication platform, Phoning.
Minji expressed, “We barely have enough time to talk about good things, so I feel very sorry and frustrated that we have to go through this unnecessary hassle. Even as I write this, nothing has been resolved and I don’t know how long these disturbing days will continue. Maybe it’s selfish to say this, but I hope we don’t have to go through any more difficult times with our Bunnies.”
Daniel added, “Since the CEO was removed, it’s been difficult and confusing. I felt a little lost for a while. Just know that we are always grateful for our Bunnies and always thinking of them.”
Additionally, Hani shared a video of herself singing a song she composed, saying, “I wanted to erase the pain for the Bunnies, the members, and the CEO, and this song started playing in my head at some point.”
