On November 29th, New Jeans has released an official statement announcing the termination of exclusive contracts with I LOVE IT.
In their statement, the group directly attributed this to the fact that their previously made demands were not met and issues remained unresolved between them and the company.
NewJeans officially announces that it will continue operations without HYBE and ADOR
Since then, the group has taken steps to solidify its identity by separating itself from ADOR, avoiding using the NewJeans name, and creating a new social media account in the process.
On December 14, a mysterious account with the username “@jeanzforfree” was discovered and later confirmed to be the girl group’s new account. They have been active on the platform ever since, sharing a variety of content and interacting with fans.

While this account was active, the group’s previous Instagram account also shared content, apparently from pre-sourced media other than that posted on @jeanzforfree.
Following the creation of the new account and ongoing issues between the group and ADOR, the @newjeans_official account has seen a decline in followers. Starting before the creation of the @jeanzforfree account, the group’s following suffered a major decline the day it was created and has lost just under 73,000 followers in the last 30 days. Most of these occurred in the period following the creation of the new account.
And although the “official” account has more followers, it’s worth noting that posts made on @jeanzforfree they got about the same amount of likes and comments. Only time will show how the situation between ADOR and NewJeans will be resolved, but it seems that fans will remain in support of the group no matter what.
