On September 2, 2024, NewJeans fans were shocked to discover that all the videos of Heesoo BanThe YouTube channel for had been removed. The channel, which was part of the “Ditto” storyline, featured Ban Heesoo as a representation of the fandom. Following the change in management after the CEO Min Hee JinAfter ‘s departure, the videos were deleted.
What made matters worse was that the company’s new policies ended up discouraging Dolphin Movie from working with the girls. This meant that all future projects were scrapped. Dolphiners Films created iconic works such as “Ditto”, “ETA”, and “Cool With You” for NewJeans. Director Shin Woo Seok, who heads Dolphiners Films, stated via Instagram that the team would not be able to continue working with ADOR and, as a result, the girls.

Because of this, fans accused HYBE and founder Bang Si Hyuk of intentionally sabotaging the girls.

“Ditto” was one of their most popular songs in the mainstream. The channel was also completely non-profit by Dolphiners Films, leaving fans baffled as to why the company had requested its cancellation.

The character Ban Hee Soo is also an integral part of NewJeans lore. The name is a play on the fandom name Bunnies, making the character a representation of the fans.

What does Hybe gain from this, other than causing the girls even more emotional distress? Those videos were literally just the girls’ memories.
