On April 3, Division 41 of the Central Central District Court (which presides over judge Jrib Hae-Il) will hold the first hearing for the main cause intended by Ador against the five Newjeans members to confirm the validity of their exclusive contracts.
Previously, on March 21, the Court granted Adr’s injunction request, who tried to maintain its status as the members of the members and forbids the members to engage in entertainment activities outside Ador.
Newjeans had presented 11 reasons for the termination of the contract, including: concerns about a production void following the dismissal of the former CEO by Ador Min Hee-Jin; The comment of the former CEO of Hybe Park Ji-Won on “give a long break to the members of the Newjeans”; Controversies between Ador and Dolphiners Films Director Shin Woo-Seok; An Hybe’s music relationship from 10 May 2023, saying: “Make the Newjeans fall and start again”; presumed damage to the identity of Newjeans by the Belift Lab Illit group; A manager of Belift Lab that would have told Illit to “ignore” Hanni; Photos and videos of Newjeans trap trainees; A Hybe Pd presumably minimizing the results of Newjeans; The album of Hybe “Pushing” albums who reduced Newjeans’ performance; The negative public sentiment presumably promoted by the retaliation of Hybe and Ador against Min Hee-Jin; The CEO of Hybe Lee Jae -ong stating that he would consider the possibility of “cloud the Newjeans brand and take both Min Hee-Jin and Newjeans together”.
However, the Court has not recognized any of these complaints as valid reasons for termination of the contract.
In response, the Newjeans expressed their frustration through international media such as Time and BBC Korea, stating “_ This is the reality of Korea. Korea seems willing to transform us into revolutionaries” and call the injunction decision of the court “_shocking_”. Despite this, public sentiment remained cold, pushing the Newjeans to take a courageous step by stopping all the activities.
Now, the main cause will once again hit the Newjeans against Ador in court. Ador currently holds the upper hand after the victory of the draw, while Newjeans is preparing to present further tests, present an objection to the injunction decision and proceed with the main legal battle.
The attention is now focused on the fact that the members of the Newjeans will appear again in court to speak directly, as they did during the injunction auditions and if the injunction decision will be canceled.
