NewJeans Drops From Top 30 Girl Group Brands by Reputation; Fans Blame HYBE

Despite its popularity, NewJeans is shockingly absent from the top 30 girl group brands, and the Bunnies claim it’s due to HYBE.

On September 15, the Korean Business Research Institute released the ranking of the 30 most popular girl groups in September 2024.

Being on this list is a major factor in determining the level of fame of K-pop artists, as the data used includes changes in customer participation, media coverage, social media interaction, and community indices.

This month, major fourth-generation teams dominated the Top 3, with aespa, IVE and LE SSERAFIM ranked in order.

Incredibly, NewJeans, which once held the number one spot, has suffered a nosedive in the rankings, only ranking at number 25 in August.

In September, the girl group was excluded from the Top 30.

Seeing this, Bunnies (NewJeans fandom) is blaming the parent label, HYBE, as NewJeans’ activities were halted in the midst of conflict with ADOR, the sub-label that manages the girl group.

Fans claim that HYBE is intentionally sabotaging the quintet by limiting their activities, and this leads to a huge decrease in their index points.

This speculation is supported by the fact that the team also showed their hostility towards Bang Si Hyuk and offered their full support to former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, the so-called “Mother of NewJeans.”

Despite this, the fandom is confident that the group’s popularity will rise after the unveiling of their viral iPhone 16 commercial on the 13th.
