Newjeans abandon the new NJZ name, social media cleaning

On April 4, the K-Pop Girl Newjeans group (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein) made a surprising move by changing their handle on social media, invalidly presenting their new name “Njz” -a @mhdhh_friends.

The new username, Mhdhh, is a combination of the first initials of the English names of the members: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein. Together with the modification of the name, all the previous posts on the account have been eliminated, further feeding rumors and discussions on the next steps of the group.

HI. We are the parents of the members. The relationships of some media that affirm that there is a division between the parents of the members are completely false. We are doing this statement to correct any misunderstandings.

All five members have a firm position that cannot return to Hybe and this decision was made after in -depth discussions with their families. From the beginning, the members promised that they would not proceed with any legal action if not all five do not agree. This demonstrates their profound trust and unity. Even now, the members remain still in their decision and we, like their parents, fully respect and weighing their choices crooked.

Despite the difficult circumstances, the five members often meet and maintain their strong friendship. Likewise, we parents have also strengthened our link through regular communication during these difficult times. It is deeply disappointing and frustrating to see voices without fundamental on Family Discord or a member who lets be published in the media. It almost seems that someone is deliberately trying to create a division.

At the beginning, we thought that these voices were not worth replying. However, since names of specific members have now been mentioned, we have decided to clarify our position. The items relating to the Haerin member are completely false. Haerin and his parents are completely aligned in their position and even any speculation about their family issues is not true.

Because of these unfounded and unilateral speculations, the member and his family are experiencing extreme emotional discomfort. The process of adjusting the parental authority due to respect for the desires of a minor was a question concerning a different member. In this case, both the child and the mother were stopped in their decision, so we kindly ask you to refrain from making hypotheses also on their family business.

We want to make it absolutely clear that all families respect and fully support their children. According to Article 10 of the Family Litigation Act, “any facts or photographs relating to a case managed or developed by the family court that could lead to the identification of an individual based on their name, age, employment or appearance must not be published in newspapers, magazines or other publications, nor will they be transmitted”. In addition, article 72 specifies criminal sanctions for violation of reporting restrictions.

The social media account that represents the part of the Newjeans parents has also changed its handle to @mhdhh_pr. This shift comes after Newjeans initially revealed the name Njz in February through the newly launched account, affirming, “Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and the new group name of Hyein is Njz. They look forward to an exciting journey with Njz in 2025!”

However, their Ador label contrasted this move, stating, “The exclusive contract with the members remains valid and is currently under legal revision. The official communication with the fans must be conducted only through the accounts designated on social media, on YouTube and Tiktok. Any account created or content loaded without a preventive consultation violates the terms of the contract.”

The protest of the truck explodes outside Hybe like fans of the new fans

Ador added, “Charts of unauthorized content or entertainment activities outside the official channels can violate the contract and cause confusion for both fans and advertisers. We ask that these actions are detained.”

Despite these warnings, the Newjeans proceeded with activities under the name of the NJZ. On March 23, they performed at the Hong Kong complex, where they revealed a new song with the NJZ brand.

During the event, the members shared an emotional message, “This could actually be our last phase for a while. We decided to pause all the activities out of respect for the decision of the Court. It was not an easy choice, but it is necessary for us right now.”

This sudden rebranding and removal of content raises questions about future identity, activities and on the current legal battle surrounding their name and label.
