BTS will perform their first full-group comeback concert in nearly four years at Seoul’s historic Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, with Netflix broadcasting the show live in more than 190 countries around the world.
Netflix and BTS’ agency HYBE officially announced the partnership on February 3, marking a historic moment for the streaming platform. This will be the first major live event from South Korea to be broadcast globally via Netflix.
The concert, titled “BTS the Comeback Live | Arirang,” will be streamed at 8pm Korean Standard Time (4am PT / 7am ET), allowing fans from different time zones to watch it in real time.
The performance will take place one day after BTS releases their fifth studio album, “Arirang,” on March 20. Fans can expect to hear debut live performances of songs from the new album alongside beloved hits from the group’s extensive catalog, according to reports. Bloomberg.
The concert will last approximately one hour and is designed as a one-off event, making it a unique opportunity for the global fanbase.
Gwanghwamun, the main gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace, is a culturally significant place founded in 1395. The decision to hold the comeback concert at this iconic venue highlights the importance of BTS’ comeback.
This return marks a symbolic moment for the seven-member group after all members completed mandatory military service requirements in South Korea.
BTS has not performed together as a full group since 2022, when the band announced a hiatus to focus on individual projects while the members fulfilled their military obligations.
Now members are returning transformed by their time away and personal growth. Their absence from the stage created significant anticipation within their fan base, known as ARMY, weaver reported.
Netflix’s involvement in concert streaming is part of the platform’s broader expansion into live programming. All Netflix subscribers worldwide can watch the concert at no additional cost.
This accessibility ensures that millions of fans who cannot attend in person will still have the opportunity to witness the historic spectacle.
After the live concert, Netflix will continue its coverage of BTS by releasing the documentary “BTS: The Return” on March 27. Directed by Bao Nguyen, known for “The Greatest Night in Pop,” the documentary chronicles the making of the “Arirang” album and captures the group’s reunion in Los Angeles.
The film offers an insight into how the members came together creatively after the hiatus and explores how their experiences during military service shaped them as artists, as per Variety.
The comeback concert is just the beginning of BTS’ expansive plans for 2026. The group announced the Arirang World Tour, which will include 82 shows in 34 regions, starting in April in South Korea.
Tour dates run from April 2026 to 2027, taking the group to major cities around the world, including Tokyo, London, Los Angeles and many more. This extensive tour demonstrates the continued demand for BTS shows globally.
