On August 28th, SM Entertainment announced Taeilthe removal from NCT due to an unspecified sexual offense.
The remaining NCT members had to continue their programs despite the loss of a member. For example, Doyoung He recently performed for several days as part of his 2024 DO YOUNG CONCERT [ Dear Youth, ] in Japan.

During his song “Rest”, Doyoung burst into tears. He couldn’t stop crying, which affected his singing. So, he had to leave and come back to finish the performance.

According to concertgoers, Doyoung didn’t just cry once. He also cried during the end of the concert.

The day before, Doyoung gave a speech that gained attention on social media. He reassured NCTzens that it’s okay if they need to take a break from being fans and that they can come back at any time.

Doyoung’s last two concerts have moved NCTzens to tears. Many are sympathetic to him, knowing he is suffering but trying to encourage his fans.

Doyoung also shared a letter via the bubble app. He apologized to fans for the delayed message and the tears that affected his singing. He reflected on his feelings after recent events.
I’m really sorry for being so late and sending this message so late to (Y/N), who must have been worried about me. I don’t even know how many times I’ve struggled with how to write this, write, and delete. The reason it took me so long to figure it out is that this time I really wanted to think about myself. I was thinking about when it would be really okay, when I could talk to (Y/N) without any other worries. It seems like I needed more time, and that’s why it’s so late. I’m really sorry.
I was really grateful for the concert yesterday and today. Without realizing it, I cried a lot during “Rest”, and I feel very sorry for the Czennies who came to hear me sing because I couldn’t sing well at that moment.
If anything I say is misunderstood or leads to misinterpretation, I don’t think I would be able to see that situation without sadness. So, all else aside, I just want to say one thing.
As always, I will sing with all my heart in my place, so please do not worry about my singing. This is the most immutable promise I can make. I will sing as much as you believe in me. Thank you so much for yesterday and today.
From tomorrow, as always, I think we will love each other even more and spend time together.
