On August 28, 2024, a post calling NCT Wish‘S Riku has gone viral online. The author of the original post had uploaded the video to an online community site, receiving over 1,698 views in less than two hours. It was later reposted on Xwhere it has received over 240,000 views.
Riku was reported for allegedly ignoring a fan during a fansign.

In the video, the fan can be heard complimenting him, even switching to Japanese for the star. He only responds with a “thank you” at the end before she moves on.
- Fan: “Riku, you were awesome today too.”
- Fan: “You are the most angelic person in the world.”
- Fan: “Riku, I was so lucky to find out about you.”
- Fan: “Bye bye, thank you.”
- Riku: “Thank you.”
The fan later responded to comments asking if he responded with a nod or in some other way.
- Comment: “He didn’t even respond? He just stared at you? Why is that?”
- OP: “If only he smiled while looking at me, I wouldn’t even get angry.”
- Comment: “He didn’t even nod?”
- OP: “If he had, I wouldn’t have posted this.”
Internet users were furious with the fan.
