Amid the controversy and immediate removal from NCT, Taeil made his official Instagram account private. However, some netizens were annoyed by the idol’s amount of followers.
Previously, on August 28, news of Taeil’s departure from NCT and allegations of sexual crimes swept the K-pop community. According to SM’s statement, the idol’s exit was due to a sexual crime allegation.
“We have been informed that Taeil has been sued for a criminal case involving a sex crime,” the agency shared. “We have realized the seriousness of the matter and have determined that he can no longer continue his activities with the group.”
The agency added: “Taeil has offered his full cooperation to the police investigation.”
The K-pop community was shocked by the news. Numerous threads and reactions were posted online by many fans, directing their anger at Taeil and his actions.
The public also heard from a netizen who claimed to be the idol’s victim for six years, fueling outrage against the former NCT member. This was followed by the Bangbae Police Station confirming that the victim was an adult woman.
Due to the persistent heat, netizens discovered that on September 5, Taeil had officially set her Instagram to private.
