On November 15, the Guri Police Department reported the arrest of a man in his 30s for attempted robbery with a weapon. The suspect, referred to as A, reportedly broke into a luxury villa in Achon-dong, Guri, Gyeonggi Province at around 6 a.m., brandishing a weapon and demanding money from residents.
It turned out that the villa in question was the home of Nana (Im Jin Ah, 34), known for her work as a singer with After School and later as an actress. Nana and her mother were home at the time of the intrusion. Despite the unexpected and dangerous situation, the two women reportedly engaged in a physical confrontation with the attacker and successfully overpowered him before calling the police.
When the police and firefighters arrived on site, the man was injured and was immediately transported to hospital for checks. Authorities are now investigating the reason for the break-in, whether it was premeditated and how the suspect came to specifically target Nana’s residence.
The force is also examining CCTV footage and access routes around the villa to determine whether further accomplices or a wider plot were involved.
