According to a March 23 report, Nana and Chae Jong Seok are not in a romantic relationship. A source close to both explained this “they’re not dating” firmly stopping the voices.
It seems that the misunderstanding originated from Nana’s appearance on the MBC variety show Omniscient interfering visionaired March 21. During the broadcast, Nana casually discussed relationships and marriage while on the road with her manager. When her manager suggested she date before she turns 40, Nana jokingly responded that dating can happen “in free moments”, adding that he did “consistently dated well.”
However, his comment on “consistently dated well” was misinterpreted by some viewers as an indication that she is currently in a relationship. This led netizens to speculate that her alleged partner was Chae Jong Seok, a model six years her junior who previously appeared alongside her in Baek Ji Young’s 2024 music video.
The situation was further fueled by the fact that when dating rumors first surfaced two years ago, Nana’s agency responded ambiguously, saying she was “Difficult to confirm due to privacy.” This previous response has contributed to the current wave of speculation, with some interpreting his recent remarks as confirmation of an ongoing relationship.
However, sources on both sides have now clarified that the rumors are completely false. They pointed out that Nana and Chae Jong Seok are not dating and that his comments on the show are simply lighthearted comments about his general dating experiences rather than a reference to any current partner.
