KBS Releases Long Statement Regarding ‘Music Bank in Madrid’ Cancellation
In their announcement, KBS explained that the stadium administration had informed them of the cancellation. The reason given was related to the continued noise complaints from residents, which led the stadium management to cancel all musical concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium until March 2025.
“It has been 6 days since Real Madrid first announced the cancellation of the Music Bank concert and, as of today, September 19, Real Madrid has not provided any official explanation or apology to KANGOORU, SL, KBS Music Bank or the thousands of K-pop fans who eagerly awaited the Music Bank concert at the Bernabéu. This is an even more unjust act,” the statement read.
“The Music Bank production team is willing to negotiate with the Madrid administrative authorities and the Bernabéu stadium official regarding any requests or alternatives and, together with the local organizers and the thousands of K-pop fans, will take measures to avoid any inconvenience to residents in the vicinity of the event venue.“, he added.
This decision disappointed many K-pop fans who were eagerly awaiting the Madrid stop of the global concert series showcasing top K-pop artists. Despite the unfortunate cancellation, there has been no further comment from Real Madrid or the stadium administration to confirm or clarify KBS’s statement.
