On February 25, Moon Sang Min sat down for an interview at a location in Jongno, Seoul, where he shared his thoughts on the release of “Pavane”, directed by Lee Jong Pil.
Released on Netflix on February 20, “Pavane” tells the story of three individuals who closed their hearts but gradually became each other’s light, learning to face life and love again. The film is directed by director Lee Jong Pil, known for works such as “English lesson from Samjin company” AND “Leak”, Both portrayed young people navigating harsh realities across different genres.
In the film, Go Ah Sung plays Mi Jung, a woman who hides from society’s uncomfortable gazes. Byun Yo Han takes on the role of Yo Han, a free spirit who loves rock music. Moon Sang Min plays Kyung Rok, a young man who gave up his dreams and chose to live realistically. The trio has been praised for their compelling on-screen chemistry.
After the film’s release, online communities were quick to talk about the intense kissing scene between Moon Sang Min and Byun Yo Han.
Moon Sang Min clarified that it wasn’t his first kiss scene. However, he admitted, “It might have been the most intense kiss of my life.” He explained, “Many viewers paid close attention to that moment, and it was an extremely important scene. Byun Yo Han gave me courage. We thought that if we just pretended, it would look even more awkward, so we decided to go through with it and do it properly. We finished it in one take.”
Previously, Byun Yo Han said that things seemed slightly awkward between them for a short time after filming the scene. Addressing this topic, Moon Sang Min said: “It was because of me. I avoided him. I couldn’t really look him in the eye and I felt shy around him.”
He continued, “But he’s a veteran actor and he’s also like a big brother to me. He came to me and said, ‘Sang Min, if you act like this, I’ll start to feel uncomfortable too.’ It was then that I realized that he had been paying a lot of attention to me. I could really feel how much he cared about both Moon Sang Min as a person and Kyung Rok as a character.
