Min Hee-jin’s house seized during harassment cover-up

On September 11, Min Hee-jin received notice from a Seoul court that her home in Yeonnam-dong was provisionally seized for KRW 100 million (about $71,000).

According to TenAsia, the creditor is a former ADOR employee identified as “A”, who filed a complaint against Min Hee-jin in August, accusing her of defamation and violation of the Personal Information Protection Law. A also filed labor violation complaints against Min and ADOR deputy CEO “B” with the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

The provisional seizure stems from a civil lawsuit filed by A, seeking KRW 100 million in damages for alleged defamation by Min Hee-jin. A legal source explained that the seizure was carried out to guarantee the assets in the event of a ruling favorable to A in the civil case.

A had previously accused deputy CEO B of sexual harassment, claiming that Min Hee-jin had tried to hide the incident to protect B, leading to further charges against Min Hee-jin for defamation.

On the other hand, Min Hee-jin talked about her financial situation at the “2024 Hyundai Card Da Vinci Motel” event, mentioning: “The legal fees are around KRW 2.3 billion (around US$1.6 million), so I may have to sell my house. But I’m grateful to have had it. If I didn’t have money I wouldn’t have been able to fight. I was really grateful that I didn’t have a husband or children, and I was also grateful that my parents were okay.”

Legal experts suggest that Min Hee-jin’s comments may have influenced the court’s decision, meeting the requirements for a provisional attachment, which is intended to prevent the debtor from disposing of assets and hinder future compensation if the creditor wins the case .
