Min Hee Jin steps down as CEO of ADOR + company appoints new director

Min Hee Jion has officially stepped down from her role as CEO at ADOR. However, the company has appointed a new director.

On August 27, ADOR announced that Min Hee Jin would no longer serve as ADOR CEO and that human resources expert Kim Joo Young was appointed as the new CEO.

However, Min Hee Jin will continue to work at ADOR as an in-house director and will work on the production of NewJeans.

Additionally, the agency announced that the reorganization will now separate production from management, rather than initially having the CEO oversee both aspects, as was the case with ADOR.

Read the agency’s full statement below:

“ADOR wishes to announce the following information.

On August 27, the company held a board meeting and appointed Kim Joo Young, ADOR’s internal director, as CEO.

Kim Joo Young, the new CEO, is a human resources expert with experience in various industries and will be responsible for stabilizing the company and restructuring the company’s internal affairs. Former CEO Min Hee Jin will step down as CEO but will remain as ADOR’s internal director and will continue to be responsible for the production of NewJeans.

At the same time, ADOR’s internal organization will now separate production and management. This has been a common principle applied in multi-labels, but ADOR has become the exception with the CEO previously overseeing both production and management.

With this organizational and personnel restructuring, ADOR intends to do its best to support NewJeans in its growth and success.

Thank you.”

On the same day (August 27) a brief statement was obtained from ADOR in a press release.

“Today, ADOR conducted the board meeting and voting process in full compliance with the procedures set forth in the Commercial Act and the articles of incorporation of the company. The meeting schedule was set between the dates that former CEO Min Hee Jin had hoped to postpone.”

“Former CEO Min Hee Jin participated via video conference, and after a thorough discussion, the board made the best choice for the future of the company and NewJeans.”

Additionally, outlet TopDaily reported that HYBE has officially terminated Min Hee Jin’s shareholder agreement. The termination reportedly occurred in July.

Here’s how Internet users reacted to the situation:

  • “As I told everyone before, this is a lose-lose situation. No one is going to win. They’re both digging their own graves, it’s just a question of who gets buried first.”
  • “Adults arguing with actual children getting caught in the crossfire. Hope NewJeans is okay.”
  • “This was always going to be the outcome and I’ve said so from the beginning. Do you still have any tricks up your sleeve?”
  • “Perhaps, but it was extremely clear that he could not maintain this position with HYBE pushing for his expulsion.”
  • “I knew they wouldn’t let her stay after all. It was only a matter of time before they found a loophole.”
  • “This just goes to show that the court of public opinion isn’t always the best court to win in, lol.”
