On April 22, 2024, a public and heated feud began between I LOVE ITis the then CEO, Min Hee Jinand the parent company of ADOR, HYBE Corporation. Since then, much has been at stake, including control of New Jeans and ADOR Entertainment, accusations of plagiarism and the reputation of HYBE and its artists.
On August 27th, Ju Young Kim was appointed as the new CEO of ADOR, while HYBE said that Min Hee Jin would continue to be responsible for the production of NewJeans. Recently, Min Hee Jin, NewJeans, and members’ parents reported the new CEO and HYBE’s alleged mistreatment.
According to reports, some changes have been made, as Min Hee Jin has been reappointed as ADOR’s internal director.
Min Hee Jin has reportedly been reappointed as internal director for a three-year term. According to industry sources, including ADOR, ADOR’s board of directors held a special meeting of shareholders on October 17, 2024 (KST) and approved the agenda to reappoint the former CEO as internal director.
The former CEO’s new term as internal director will begin on November 2 and last three years. Min was due to complete his previous term on November 1. It was reported that there were no other items on the agenda other than the reappointment of the internal director.
The former CEO said that for NewJeans to succeed, he needs not only the extension of his director term, but also a return to the CEO position. Previously, ADOR held a board meeting in August in which it fired the former CEO from his role and appointed Ju Young Kim, an internal director at ADOR, as the new CEO.
On September 25, ADOR, under the leadership of Ju Young Kim, offered to extend the former CEO’s tenure as internal director, but said his return to the CEO position was not possible.
