According to MyDaily on January 20, Mijoo and Song Bum-keun recently ended their relationship. A source close to the couple said: “Mijoo and Song Bum-keun broke up. They shared a beautiful love, but the pressures of a public relationship were inevitable. Despite the breakup, they decided to support each other.”
The three-year age gap couple first revealed their relationship in April last year, with their romance going public through Lovestagram. Fans pieced together their relationship when the two shared similar photos from what appeared to be the same travel locations.
Mijoo even traveled to Yokohama, Japan to visit Song Bum-keun while he was playing in the J-League, openly showing her affection for him.
Despite their efforts to maintain a long-distance relationship, the couple ultimately decided to separate. The news is particularly bitter as Song Bum-keun recently left Japan’s Shonan Bellmare in the J-League to join Jeonbuk Hyundai in the Korean K-League. Many hoped that his return to Korea would strengthen their bond, but instead the news of the breakup came first.
Meanwhile, Mijoo debuted with Lovelyz in 2014 and later joined Antenna, making her solo debut in 2023. She is currently showcasing her versatile charms in various entertainment programs, including “Hangout with Yoo” by MBC.
Song Bum-keun, a goalkeeper who joined Jeonbuk Hyundai in 2018 as a rookie, returned to the team this year and is preparing for the new season.
