Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has officially requested more BTS concert dates in Mexico through a diplomatic letter addressed to South Korean President Lee Jae Myung. The announcement was made during the usual press conference on January 26 (local time).
President Sheinbaum highlighted the immense popularity of the global K-pop phenomenon BTSwho will perform in Mexico this May as part of their world tour. “Tickets for BTSThe concerts in Mexico sold out quickly. Although around 150,000 tickets were sold, over a million people were hoping to attend,” he explained, expressing concern about the overwhelming demand.
He continued saying: “Three concerts are currently confirmed in Mexico City. I made a respectful diplomatic request to the Korean president, asking if BTS will be able to return to Mexico more frequently.”
Sheinbaum also suggested alternative solutions in case further concerts are not possible, adding, “A big screen broadcast would also be appreciated.”

BTS is currently preparing for a 79-show global tour that will hit Asia, North America, Europe, South America and Oceania. The group will begin their North American leg with performances at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 25, 26 and 28.
