Returning three years after the second chapter, Avatar: Fire and Ash is one of the most anticipated successes by the global public. Alongside familiar faces like Jake Sully, Neytiri and their children, Pandora expands further to introduce the Ash People and many new layers to its universe. But who are the real people behind these iconic Na’vi characters?
The first are the iconic protagonist duo loved by Avatar fans: Jake Sully and Neytiri. Actor Sam Worthington reprises his role as the courageous protagonist, now a father and a fugitive targeted by humans. Meanwhile, Zoe Saldana continues to play the fierce Neytiri, who stands alongside her husband and children to protect Pandora from destruction both internal and external.

In addition to the Sully family, Avatar: Fire and Ash brings back the leaders of the Metkayina clan: Tonowari and Ronal. Cliff Curtis and Titanic beauty Kate Winslet return as the husband and wife team, once again joining the battle against the “Sky People.” Notably, Ronal is pregnant in this film and may give birth during the story.

The villain who won’t die, Colonel Miles Quaritch, also makes his return in Avatar: Fire and Ash. Although he was eliminated in the first film, advanced memory storage technology resurrected him in Na’vi form. Stephen Lang brings the character to life once again, promising to unleash a powerful army to retake Pandora.

Then there are the children of the Sully family. Her adopted daughter Kiri, played by legendary 76-year-old actress Sigourney Weaver, is the reincarnation of Dr. Grace Augustine. With her unique origin, Kiri is expected to play a vital role and maintain a deep spiritual connection with Eywa.

Lo’ak, the adventurous second son who often worries his parents, is played by 2001-born British actor Dalton. With a visibly more mature appearance, Dalton presents a braver and more adult version of Lo’ak, especially after his strained relationship with his parents following his brother’s death.

Finally there is Tuk, the youngest and most sensitive member of the Sully family, who is tenderly protected by everyone. She is played by child actress Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, who, after several years, has grown into a graceful young lady.

As the Sully boys face new challenges, they meet new friends across Pandora. Returning in Avatar: Fire and Ash, Tsireya – daughter of Chief Metkayina – is once again played by Bailey Bass (born 2003), and will be a key figure in Lo’ak’s personal journey.

As the only human living naturally among the Na’vi, Spider remains played by Jack Champion. This time, Spider will become a major point of conflict, caught between the Sully family and his biological father, Colonel Quaritch.
The most surprising addition to Avatar: Fire and Ash is the character Varang, a fierce and captivating leader of the Ash people. Representing the darker side of the Na’vi, Varang was shaped by pain and is willing to team up with Quaritch to devastate Pandora. The role was entrusted by James Cameron to actress Oona Chaplin, known for Game of Thrones and granddaughter of cinema legend Charlie Chaplin. With his beauty and powerful performance, Chaplin left a strong impression on Cameron, particularly by creating Varang’s unique movements and fighting style herself.

Avatar: Fire and Ash will premiere on December 19, 2025.
