Recently, Jungwon was recently involved in a dating rumor with aespa‘S Winter. Like many dating rumors, these were not well received, resulting in both idols facing backlash, including protest trucks sent to HYBE and Winter being cursed when arriving at a hotel for an event.
Each of the idol’s companies denied the allegations and netizens debunked them as false. However, Jungwon was also accused of smoking, sparking even more backlash against the idol.

Now, emails have reportedly been sent to HYBE calling for his departure from the group.
On Weibo, a post from an ENHYPEN fan showing instructions on how to send HYBE mass emails attracted attention. The letter provided as a template made multiple demands on HYBE, including removing Jungwon from the group and threatening a boycott.
“Subject: Strong protests and requests regarding Yang Jungwon’s love life and fan provocation issues
This email is to express my strong condemnation and dissatisfaction with your artist Yang Jungwon’s love life and fans’ provocation. Furthermore, I strongly protest the way your company handled this matter!
We also condemn the “negative hot searches” that appeared on Weibo recently and your company’s action of buying hot searches and topics to control public opinion. This action not only severely breaks the trust between the company and fans, but also damages the reputation of the artist and his group.
As a loyal fan, I have always been very supportive of HYBE artists and their work, but for now the situation with Yang Jungwon has very disappointed and angered us fans, especially Chinese fans.
As for the rumors about Yang Jungwon’s love life, there hasn’t been a direct answer. As a Chinese fandom, we strongly demand that HYBE be decisive and resolve the issue.
Specifically we have the following requests:
1. Announce Yang Jungwon’s official departure from the group or an indefinite break for group activities;
2. Ask Yang Jungwon to personally confirm the relationship and apologize for this matter and for provoking fans;
3. Your company must publicly clarify and apologize officially for creating negative searches and hot topics for other group members on Chinese social media platforms.If your company does not handle this matter satisfactorily and promptly, we would be forced to continue our protest in various ways and across different platforms. If the problem was not solved in a reasonable way, Chinese fans would not be able to continue supporting the group. If we do not receive a response to our requests, we will permanently cease our support of ENHYPEN, including future album sales and related activities. As of now, individual members’ fan accounts have announced a suspension for future album group orders, expressing our dissatisfaction and condemnation. We sincerely request your company to treat our fans’ requests seriously and quickly resolve the problem with effective actions. Please understand that this does not only imply the dissatisfaction of some fans, but also the fandom’s demands for the respect and trust of the group and the company. I look forward to the company’s prompt response and correct resolution to the issue!
