In the final episode of the JTBC variety show My name is Gabrieleaired on the 4th, the last chapter of Jennie’s story was revealed in which Maria, the owner of a guesthouse in the Italian countryside, was revealed.
As the owner of the guesthouse, Jennie prepared a homemade Italian meal with “Fini Fini Pasta” and personally served it to three male guests visiting from France.
Even during the meal the guests continued to cast intense glances at Jennie and her mother. At one point, one of the guests said, “My sister’s room is full of posters of Maria (Jennie).”
Finally, they became curious whether Maria was actually BLACKPINK’s Jennie and even rehearsed their questions in advance. Watching from the studio, Jennie was surprised and exclaimed, “I didn’t know! Truly?”
As Jennie approached the guests’ table, they raised their prepared question, saying, “We have something we’re curious about. The pasta was delicious, but we feel like we’ve seen you before somewhere,” leaving Jennie flustered.
Jennie tried to play it down, replying: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I work here and paint. However, they persisted, saying: “I saw your poster in my sister’s room. You were in a band, are you sure you don’t sing?”
One of the guests even hummed the phrase “BLACKPINK in your area” from BLACKPINK’s intro, putting Jennie in a tough spot.
However, Jennie insisted: “I don’t know.” When they asked, “What about the name Jennie?” she replied: “It’s a nice name, but I’m Maria. Let me know if you need anything,” before quickly walking away from the guests.
Despite her departure, guests remarked, “I don’t believe her” and “She’s lying,” which made viewers laugh.
