A third-generation idol revealed how Jeongyeon rejected his request for a collaboration on TikTok — and the TWICE member’s reason was so personal it made fans laugh.

Recently, ACE Byeongkwan communicated with CHOICEs (fandom) through a broadcast in which he also shared an anecdote with his senior idol, TWICE Jeongyeon. Although the latter idol debuted before him, both were born in 1996 and became close friends after training at JYP Entertainment for two years.
However, things didn’t go as planned and it ended up debuting as ACE under Beat Interactive.
The boy group just returned with “Pinata” on November 20th. Since then, they have been actively promoting music shows and social media platforms, such as TikTok, by launching their own dance challenge with other idols.
On December 6, TWICE will return with their fourteenth mini-album “Strategy”, together with Jeongyeon after taking a break due to health issues. This means that the two groups’ activities will overlap for weeks, and fans have been quick to call for their collaboration.
To fans’ surprise, it seemed that Byeongkwan had already asked the female idol before their comeback, but surprisingly, Jeongyeon hastily refused, but her reason led CHOICEs to side with Jeongyeon.
Byeongkwan said:
“Was it last Friday? I called her and told her I heard about their return and asked her if I could participate in (our) challenge. But she responded like this: ‘I never hear from you, but (you just contact me ) to film a challenge.'”
He then shared a more detailed story of how their conversation went, with Jeongyeon replying, “Who is this?”, when she reached out to him. Thinking she had deleted her number, he introduced himself but she clarified that he still had his contacts but his KakaoTalk was missing from his phone.

When Byeongkwan said his only purpose was to ask her to do a challenge, the TWICE member responded:
“You only contact me for stuff like that, I’ve done it before (so), no.”
But he didn’t give up and revealed his plan to personally meet Jeongyeon during the promotion of their music show to give her their album, then asked to film with him while he was on his knees.
Hearing this story, Byeongkwan’s fans also agreed that this time it was the male star’s fault and sided with Jeongyeon’s real and personal reason for the rejection. The male star recognized him and agreed that he was with her too.
Meanwhile, after the story, both ONCE (TWICE fans) and CHOICE were just happy that the two maintained their hilarious and cute friendship.
