143 Entertainment has confirmed Gaeun’s departure from MADEIN.
On November 29, the agency announced that Gaeun had officially left his group. 143 Entertainment also addressed allegations of sexual harassment involving the company’s CEO.
“Gaeun has officially left MADEIN as of today. Since his debut in September, Gaeun has always done his best for MADEIN’s activities. However, Gaeun found it difficult to continue with the group due to personal circumstances, so it was decided that he will cause the group to leave.”
The agency went on to say that MADEIN will now continue its activities as a six-member group with Mashiro, Yeseo, MiU, Nagomi, Serina and Suhye. The agency also subsequently denied the CEO’s allegations of sexual harassment.
“We would like to address the latest allegations of sexual harassment, which are false, and we have evidence that these allegations are unfounded. If there are any legal issues, we will address them truthfully and clarify any doubts.”
143 Entertainment also apologized to fans for delivering such harsh news. He also kindly requested their continued support to Gaeun and MADEIN.”
In other news, Gaeun had fans worried due to his social media activity. Fans pointed out that the idol had removed his Instagram posts, along with the tags of 143 Entertainment, MADEIN and its CEO from his profile.
A separate statement from the agency later followed, announcing that Gaeun would be taking a break for health reasons.
On November 22, Korean news shared that JTBC’s “Crime Chief” released a report detailing a CEO who had sexually assaulted a girl group member.
While no specific names were mentioned, viewers identified a blurry video of a MADEIN performance. They also claimed that the girl group’s description matched MADEIN and that Gaeun’s sudden termination coincided with the report.
