Viewers of Chinese drama”An’s Revenge” were left laughing at a logical error in episode 6, in which the protagonist’s assassination scene made no sense.

However, in episode 6, viewers noticed a major logical flaw. When the main character Xie Huai An (played by Cheng Yi) is suddenly attacked by Liu Zi Yun, his wound initially appears minor and treatable. But in the next scene, the wound moves to a dangerous spot on his neck. The public pointed out that with ancient medical practices, surviving such an injury would be nearly impossible. Some defended the show, saying the protagonist’s resilience justifies it, but many insisted the production should have been more meticulous.
An’s Revenge follows Xie Huai An, a brilliant and strategic young man whose family is massacred. He spends 10 years in hiding, gradually climbing the political ladder to exact revenge. Despite the compelling plot, Cheng Yi’s performance received criticism. Observers note that his performance is monotonous, with unclear enunciation and weak breath control, making it difficult for the audience to follow the dialogue. Furthermore, his expressions are inconsistent; in some scenes, his portrayal of a loyal official appears distorted, losing the character’s intended integrity.
Fans hope that future projects will see Cheng Yi deliver more nuanced performances and ensure production continuity to avoid similar logical inconsistencies.
