Recently, aespa’s Winter, singer and actor Jung Dong-won, and “Marry My Husband” actor Lee Yi-kyung attended the variety show “Country Life of Gen-Z” (also known as “City Z Goes to the Countryside”) together.
In the second episode of the series, Jung Dong-won, an avowed fan of Winter, is seen helping Winter prepare the food.
During this, however, Lee Yi-kyung can be seen sneakily taking pictures of the duo with a Polaroid camera, before handing the photos to Jung Dong-won “as a gift.”
He also asked Dong-won, “You said you like older women, right?”, as if he wanted to tease the two with possible romantic prospects.
However, considering that Dong-won is a minor (17 years old) and Winter is 23 and unaware of the photos, many Korean and international fans find Lee Yi-kyung’s actions disturbing.
“It’s weird how he interprets their interactions by saying things like ‘you like older women, right?’ As if the guy is an 07-liner… and then proceeds to treat Winter like a gift to him,” said one Internet user.
“You know what I hate the most? Taking pictures of two of them together without permission and then giving them to just one person.”another wrote, adding, “So to say ‘It’s a gift’? It’s an object…? It’s a gift…? If a man gave a photo of me to another man without my consent… Wouldn’t you be angry? I’m angry. I don’t think he’s smiling because he’s really happy there.”
