According to broadcast officials on January 24, Lee Yi-dam has been cast in the new drama “Asura Balbalta”. This confirms his upcoming projects, including “Asura Balbalta”, following his role in the new Netflix series “Love In Translation”.
“Asura Balbalta” tells the story of three comedians chasing their dreams and a woman whose life has fallen apart who joins them to find hope. The drama will begin filming this year, directed by Jeong Ji-hyun, known for “Dear Hyeri.” Studio Dragon is producing and the platform and release date have yet to be determined.
Lee Yi-dam made a strong impression with his role in tvN X TVING’s original drama series “The Queen Who Crowns.” In “The Queen Who Crowns,” she plays the role of Chae-ryung, a servant to Wongyeong (played by Cha Joo-young), giving her character a sense of unpredictability, which helped fuel the drama’s popularity.
After debuting in 2017, Lee Yi-dam showed his potential with fresh appearance and strong acting in dramas such as “Artificial City” and “Black Knight”. She also attracted attention for her role as Min Deul-re in “Daily Dose of Sunshine,” for which she was nominated for the Newcomer Award at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards.
