The press conference for the film “About Family” was held today (November 12) at 11:00 am at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University. Director Yang Woo-seok and actors Kim Yoon-seok, Lee Seung-gi, Kim Sung-ryung, Kang Han-na and Park Soo-young were present.
Previously, Lee Seung-gi hinted at taking legal action against malicious comments related to the stock manipulation controversy surrounding his father-in-law, known as Mr. A, who is the husband of actress Kyeon Mi-ri. Questions about this topic were raised during today’s event.
Addressing the issue, Lee Seung-gi said: “It seems that my statement that “the family is not at fault” may have caused some misunderstanding. What I have consistently said is that “in-laws’ matters are theirs.” Since we got married, my wife and I have created an independent family. I do not feel it is appropriate to go into further detail on this topic and intend to be more cautious in the future.”
Lee Seung-gi married actress Lee Da-in, daughter of Kyeon Mi-ri, in April last year, and they welcomed a daughter in February this year.
Before Lee Seung-gi and Lee Da-in’s wedding, suspicions resurfaced that A was involved in a previous stock manipulation case. In response, Kyeon Mi-ri’s side stated through its legal representatives in February last year that Kyeon Mi-ri and her husband had no connection to the stock manipulation case and stated that they would take action legal against the spread of false information.
In particular, Lee Seung-gi’s agency highlighted “This matter concerns events that occurred before Lee Seung-gi’s marriage and is a matter for the family to resolve. We sincerely ask that the family be excluded for the sake of Lee Seung-gi”, thus drawing a clear line regarding the controversy.
