Empty fanmeeting
Previously, it was underlined on Forum Coreani, such as Insetiz, which Lee Min-Ho is facing serious difficulties in the sale of tickets for his next fans’ meeting at Olympic Hall (Soul, South Korea) at the beginning of March. According to the related topics, the sales of tickets for the event were opened two weeks ago, but only about 55% of the 2,500 places available was sold. In other words, although the event is around the corner, Lee Min-Ho managed to sell only about 1,300 tickets.
This situation also makes a comparison between Lee Min-Ho and other actors of the same generation, Kim Soo-Hyun and Lee Jong-Suk. In particular, reports indicate that Kim Soo Hyun has successfully exhausted 4,500 places for his fans’ meeting, while Lee Jong-Suk, despite being inactive for a long time, has already sold 2,000 tickets for his event. Consequently, in the social media forums, many fans have expressed concern for the sale of Lee Min-Ho’s overwhelming tickets, above all because this event is destined to start his tour for the Asia fans meeting for ‘year.
Disastrous return for small screen
In addition to his concerns on the encounter of the fans, Lee Min-Ho has also faced strong criticism for his recent drama K “When the Stars Gossip”. In particular, the show has not only aroused criticism for its scenes and absurd plots, but has also been slammed for its ending, always keeping alarming assessments.
In particular, the drama reached its highest evaluation at the beginning, hitting 3.9% in episode 2, but later decreased. In episode 15, a disastrous 1.783% collapsed, with an average score of only 2.363% of extremely disappointing numbers.
This makes “When the Stars Gossip” one of the weekend dramas for the worst performance of Tvn in recent years. In fact, since Tvn moved his dramatic slot in the early evening from Friday-Saturday for the weekend of 2017, this is only the second time that a weekend drama has undergone such a significant drop in the public.
Adding to the pain, before the premiere of “When the Stars Gossip”, nobody could have foreseen this result, since the project was not only supported by a huge budget of 50 billion victories (34 million USD), but is also the protagonist two Top -tier Actors, Gong Hyo-Jin and Lee Min-Ho.
For Lee Min-Ho, this could be the most devastating failure of his actor career. Never before a drama recited it while the protagonist fell in such a humiliating situation, not only to hit the assessments of the rock fund, but he could not also generate any buzz on social media.
Future perspectives
While the shaded fans and the low voting k-drama are revealing signs of a collapse, many fans remain optimistic, stating that most of the actors struggle to sell even 1,000 tickets for a fans’ meeting, therefore the Lee Fanbase MIN-HO is still a little decent. Furthermore, some stressed that “when the gossip stars” flopted not because of Lee Min-Ho, but rather mainly due to the poor writing of the drama.
Currently, Lee Min-Ho has published another project for the release in the film adaptation of the famous web novel “Omniscient Reader’s ViewPoint”. However, even before his premiere, the film has already faced strong criticism for the drastic changes that presumably “destroy” the original story. If this film also slips, 2025 could prove to be a deeply unfortunate year for Lee Min-Ho.
