Lee Jung-jae praised Gong Yoo’s acting in the Russian roulette scene “Squid Game 2”

On December 30, Netflix Korea’s YouTube channel uploaded a new video showing Lee Jung-jae reacting to the Russian roulette scene with Gong Yoo.

In the video, Lee Jung-jae watched the Russian roulette scene between him and Gong Yoo in the first episode of “Squid Game 2”. He shared, “I thought this scene had a really cinematic feel. Many things have to be considered when shooting a scene like this.”adding “This scene was particularly sensitive because it comes out in the first episode. While we didn’t want the tone to be too dramatic from the first episode, we had to create intrigue and suspense at the same time.”

In particular, Lee Jung-jae mentioned Gong Yoo’s acting in the scene, saying “If you’re a fan of Gong Yoo, I’m sure you’ll love seeing a new side of him in this scene.”

He added, “Season 1 also has a lot of lines regarding following the rules and playing fair. Even in a game between just the two of them, they both strictly follow the rules. Breaking the rules means losing. Ki-hoon considers himself stronger than everyone else. This brings the strong message that he feels he can beat everyone.”

Also, Lee Jung-jae said: “What an ending. Who wouldn’t want to watch episode 2?” He praised Gong Yoo’s acting once again, saying “I kept telling Gong Yoo that he did an amazing job. And I really meant it. He is not only charismatic but also mischievous in this scene. He even looks scary and embodies all of that in his acting. This scene couldn’t have served better as the perfect climax.
