In a recent episode of the YouTube channel “Life84”, Lee Joo Bin spent the day at Seoul Land amusement park with host Kian84. During their conversation, Kian84 mentioned his widely circulated 2017 photo ID. “This photo got pretty famous,” he noted, to which Lee responded, “I thought it would be a good thing to get famous, but it turned into a case of identity theft.”
Lee explained that his image has been misused in various industries. “My photo has been used by fake call center representatives, insurance agents, investment brokers and even to pose as second-hand car dealers. Scammers have used my face to trick people into investing. A fake national identity card was also created using my photo and I received a court summons.”
He added: “I also received a call from my agency asking if I had committed investment fraud. There have been several scam cases involving that photo.”

Kian84 joked, “It’s probably because your face looks so trustworthy. If someone like that tried to sell me something, I’d probably buy it too,” making them both laugh.
During the episode, Lee also shared that she was once part of the debut lineup of girl group Rainbow. “I interned for a short time in high school, not because I was dying to become a celebrity, but because interns only had to take four classes before going to the agency. I wasn’t very interested in studying, so I started skipping classes,” she said.

“But over time I started to enjoy it,” he continued. “What started out as ‘just a year or two’ turned into ten years. I didn’t think I had what it took to act, so I told myself I’d try for another year and then it turned into ten. Luckily, I ended up getting a role in The Roundup: Punishment.”
Lee also revealed that in her twenties she earned around KRW 4.5 million (around $3,400) a month working part-time as a suiting model. “I was doing two shoots a week, earning KRW 450,000 per session. In total, I was doing four or five shoots a month. I’ve been living alone since I was 21, so the money covered my tuition, rent and living expenses,” she said.
