Lee Joo-bin reveals his ‘legendary photo ID’ was used for scams, even leading to a court summons

The story was revealed on the November 25 episode of Kian84’s YouTube show Life84titled “With Lee Joo-bin”. Meeting at an amusement park, Kian84 mentioned her viral ID photo, saying it had become well-known in online communities.

Lee Joo-bin explained that the photo, taken in 2017, brought unexpected problems despite its popularity. He shared, “I thought it would be nice if the photo became famous, but…” before detailing the distressing series of events.

According to the actress, her photo was stolen and used by scammers posing as consultants, insurance agents, investment advisors and even used car dealers. “They used my face to trick people into investing. My registration card was even falsified and I received a notice requiring me to appear in court,” he revealed.

He added, “My agency has also received calls asking if I was involved in an investment scam. There have been several scam cases using that photo.”

Kian84 jokingly replied, “Your face seems too trustworthy. If someone like you tried to sell me something, I’d probably buy it.” drawing laughter.

During the conversation, Lee Joo-bin also shared a lesser-known part of her past: She was once part of the girl group’s debut lineup Rainbow. “I trained briefly in high school. It wasn’t because I desperately wanted to become a celebrity, trainees only had to attend school until fourth period. I didn’t have the passion for studying at the time, so I became a trainee to skip classes,” he admitted.

Lee Joo-bin will appear in 2026 tvN drama Spring fever.
