Actor Lee Chae Min has confirmed his next project, teaming up with director Kim Hee Won Queen of tears for the upcoming drama My reason for dying.
According to reports on February 12, Lee Chae Min will take on the lead role in the drama adaptation of the popular webtoon of the same name, directed by Kim Hee Won. He is set to play Cha Gyeol, one of the central characters in the story.
My reason for dying is a regression love story that follows Ji Oh, a high school student preparing for the national Taekwondo team trials, and Cha Gyeol, a mysterious and captivating figure. The original webtoon gained considerable popularity during its serialization for its sensitive depiction of emotional development between the male and female protagonists.
This project marks Lee Chae Min’s first collaboration with director Kim Hee Won, who has been widely praised for her fine storytelling in dramas such as Vincent, Little Womenand as co-director of the hit series Queen of tears. With Lee currently considered one of the rising stars in the industry, there is great anticipation for the synergy between the actor and the experienced director.
Lee Chae Min demonstrated his growing star power last year through the tvN drama Bon appetit, Your Majestywhere he stepped in on short notice after Park Sung Hoon’s departure. Despite the sudden cast change, Lee delivered a stable and compelling performance, helping to increase the drama’s popularity and leaving a strong impression on viewers.
