The controversy over South Korean TV personality Park Na Rae has taken a surprising turn as attention shifts from serious allegations of illegal medical procedures, now overshadowed by leaked audio involving her and a former manager.
Recently, the YouTube channel “Entertainment President Lee Jin-ho” released recorded phone conversations between Park and her former manager “A.” The clips captured the two exchanging emotional support during the early days of the controversy, painting a more complex picture than the original allegations of abuse of power suggested.
Lee Jin-ho noted that the recording “presents a different narrative from the well-known ‘gapjil’ (power harassment) frame” casting doubt on the allegations. Some industry insiders believe the leaks appear less like third-party revelations and more like strategic releases intended to influence public perception.
In the recordings, Park is heard initiating the conversation and suggesting a meeting, focusing more on the emotional exchange than the conflict. This narrative shift shifted the focus from whether Park mistreated his manager to the credibility of the manager’s claims.
In this new perspective, a much more serious issue has quietly disappeared from the headlines: the “Injection Aunt” scandal, in which Park Na Rae was accused of receiving unlicensed medical treatment.
Previously, SBS investigative program “Curious stories Y” highlighted allegations that Park had received injections from someone without a medical license. Medical professionals interviewed during the broadcast called the mix of substances “a dangerous combination never clinically studied”, warning of potential serious side effects. The Korean Medical Association also classified the case as a “clear example of unlicensed medical practice”, calling for a formal investigation.

This case goes beyond celebrity gossip, raising significant concerns about the normalization of illegal cosmetic procedures in the entertainment industry. Despite this, recent media coverage has focused on leaked recordings, personality conflicts, and narrative disputes – arguably more sensational but far from the severity of unauthorized medical treatments.
As a result, the central question – whether Park Na Rae participated in or permitted illegal medical activity – appears to be slipping into the background.
Park’s side claimed to have received “legal treatments by authorized professionals”, but medical experts continue to refute it and calls for a proper investigation persist. The scandal, although sidelined by the latest drama, remains unresolved and far from over.
