LE SSERAFIM’s Eunchae Sticker Controversy: “Staff Said It Was OK”

On September 1st, screenshots of social media posts made by staff members appeared in online communities, showing stickers with the phrase “LE SSERAFIM Mini 4th Album ‘CRAZY'” and Hong Eunchae’s face pasted on their MacBooks, spray cans, cups, and other items. The staff shared messages such as “It took over while I was distracted. Eunchae, be happy”, “My laptop is full of traces of Eunchae”, AND “CRAZY promotion with traces of Eunchae”, sexpressing affection for the female idol.

However, some netizens criticized Eunchae’s actions, saying that “he crossed the line.”

They commented: “Just the thought of removing that sticker stresses me out,” “How is this different from someone who scribbles on a cultural landmark like Gyeongbokgung Palace?” “He probably doesn’t realize that some people are paying for their MacBooks for two years,” “He doesn’t really think about it,” AND “Why would he put a non-removable sticker on someone else’s belongings? Was it agreed upon?”

On the other hand, some Internet users thought the criticism was excessive, saying: “Female idols must have a hard time being slaughtered for something like this,” “If the staff agreed, why are outsiders making a fuss?” “The staff themselves posted it, so why all the fuss?” AND “If it really bothered them, they wouldn’t have published it.”

This isn’t the first time LE SSERAFIM’s Eunchae has faced controversy for his actions. During a previous live broadcast, he made a remark that seemed to mock a fan who attended high school, saying, “You’re going to school, right? It must be hard,” while smiling.

At the time, netizens criticized her for being “rude” and demanded an apology. Eunchae eventually apologized during the presentation of her fourth mini album ‘CRAZY’ on August 29, saying, “In the future I will strive to show a more cautious and responsible side.”

Even then, some Internet users felt the criticism was exaggerated.
