During LE SSERAFIM’s comeback, Eunchae apologized for “making fun of students.” The group also bowed their heads in thanks for their performance at Coachella 2024.
On August 29, the “fourth generation representative” girl group held a showcase in Seoul, ahead of the release of their fourth mini-album “Crazy” this Friday.
During the interview with the Korean press, LE SSERAFIM also took the opportunity to shed light on the controversies surrounding the team and its members.
Starting with Eunchae, the youngest member has previously been attacked online by college students after she allegedly made fun of them.
For context, in one of the group’s live broadcasts in March last year, the member was criticized for his “condescending” remark in an attempt to empathize with the students’ struggles and their feelings of having to go to school at 7 in the morning.
This did not go down well with the Korean students, who felt ridiculed and belittled, especially since Eunchae did not go to school and this implied that she had not encountered the same difficulties as them.

In this regard, Eunchae publicly apologized and said:
“At the time, I think I thought about it calmly, without knowing it, because it was a place to communicate with the fans.
I should have known that the closer you get, the more careful you have to be, but I didn’t think about it deeply.
I apologize for disappointing you with my immature behavior. I promise to show myself as a more responsible person with a caring heart.”
As the show continued, Korean journalists also raised the huge issue of their “poor” live singing skills at Coachella 2024.
At the time, their stage was called the “worst” among K-pop girl groups performing, mostly due to their unstable vocals.
Kim Chaewon, one of the group’s vocalists, confessed her regret and acknowledged their lack of ability, saying:
“There were many unpleasant aspects of our Coachella stage, but it was a time where the team and members learned and accomplished a lot.
Since it was our first time performing at a big outdoor festival, we got emotional without realizing it and couldn’t control the pace, so I think we were lacking in that aspect.”
However, he told fans that the group will use criticism as motivation to improve.
“We realized that we still have a long way to go to learn more and gain experience, and we think it is our lifelong task to show an even better side of ourselves in the future. The members also talked about showing a better side of ourselves.”
Huh Yunjin, the main vocalist of LE SSERAFIM added:
“Based on this experience, we want to show our gradual growth. I think ‘Crazy’ is the first step in that direction. We will work hard to show our fans who support us a better stage and music. Please watch over our growth.”
