Source Music has declared a firm stance against the growing wave of harmful online content directed at girl group Le Sserafim, announcing that it will take legal action to combat defamatory posts and false information.

The agency issued its warning on November 14 through an official statement released on fan community platform Weverse.

The agency confirmed that it had identified a recent sharp increase in harmful substances post online targeting the girl group and its individual members. These posts include hateful criticism, personal insults, mockery, and the deliberate spread of false information that violates artists’ personal rights. Source Music operates a real-time monitoring system dedicated to detecting such content, along with HYBE’s unified artist rights reporting channel, through which the increase has been documented.

The agency emphasized that individuals who engage in defamatory behavior cannot escape legal liability through anonymity. It said that posts and comments written anonymously remain subject to criminal sanctions, and that those responsible for creating such harmful content continue to face enforcement action. The label reveals that numerous criminal sanctions have already been imposed on numerous violators following ongoing investigations and legal proceedings.

The agency stressed that presenting unverified claims or rumors as statements of fact constitutes a clear violation of the personal rights of the artist and a criminal offence according to the law. Acts involving insults and defamation directed at artists are punishable under Korean law, and Source Music reiterated its commitment to taking legal action against all violations identified in online communities and digital platforms.

Source Music has reaffirmed its zero tolerance policy, saying it will pursue criminal charges without settlement or leniency. The agency is committed to taking both regular and ad hoc legal action against harmful posts, actively cooperating with authorities by providing evidence of harm suffered by artists and submitting relevant documentation to ensure appropriate punishment for violators.

The statement also expresses gratitude to FEARNOT, Le Sserafim’s fan community, for their role in reporting harmful content. The agency recognized that fan reports submitted via the HYBE reporting site significantly support protection efforts and strengthen legal responses. Source Music has indicated that it will continue to implement every available measure to safeguard the rights of artists and maintain the integrity of the group against ongoing attacks.
