On the 15th, distributor Muuuuuu has released the first trailer and photos of Collapsethe posthumous work of the late Song Jae-rim, which delves into the ambitions of a genius entrepreneur entering the volatile cryptocurrency market.
Collapse is a crime film inspired by the real-life cryptocurrency collapse that shook the world, sweeping it away 50 trillion won of value. The film tells the story of a young entrepreneur who makes irreversible choices, unmasking the dark side of startup investments and describing a reality in which young people dedicated to quick profits are trapped between day stock trading AND nightly crypto speculation.
In the first trailer just released, Song Jae-rim portrays the self-proclaimed business genius Yang Do Hyunwhich creates a cryptocurrency called MOM. The trailer captures the beginning of his downfall, as his ambitions drag not only himself but others to ruin. Even though I started with just 5 million wonYang Do-hyun harbors the dream of transforming it 500 billion wonexuding an overconfidence reminiscent of Elon Musk. His chilling line, “Do I look like a scammer?”raises questions about the fate that awaits him, amplifying the anticipation for the film.
Collapse is based on a real-life event that caused widespread casualties, inspired by the infamous “Luna Coin” accident. which has yet to see final legal resolutions. The production was thorough pre-investigative research AND legal advice to ensure accuracy and detail. The film is also supported by Korean Creative Content Agency as part of its new multimedia content production program.
Directed by Hyun Hae-riformer PD known for investigative journalism and acclaimed at Cannes Theater Festival for works such as “Fired 9 times”, Collapse adds a layer of realism to its story of corruption and downfall.
The cast includes Ahn Woo-yeon (Jealousy incarnate, Strong Woman Do Bong-soon), Min Sung-wook (Three brave brothers, The Big Short Original Disney+*), So Hee-jung (Miraculous Brothers, Kairos), AND Cha Jung-won (Horror stories, The lawless lawyer, She was cute).
