Lamine Yamal enjoys the “gangster” birthday party, the public also challenges

On the night of her 18th birthday, the star of Barcelona Lamine Yamal organized a stunning party in a luxury villa in Olivella, Barcelona, adopting a “gangster” theme that has quickly become viral, even if not entirely for the right reasons.

I defect in white dress, black gloves and transporting a stick, Yamal embraced the role of a mafia boss for the night. The party characterized the fireworks, the fountains of Champagne, a live performance of Chimbala’s “Abusadora”, in an elaborate film environment that hosted over 250 guests, including teammates Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Lewandowski and stars such as Ozuna, Byzantrap and Bad Gyal.

The event culminated in the revelation of a “gangster” cake at midnight, symbolically marking Yamal’s official transition in adulthood pursuant to Spanish law.

Despite asking guests to refrain from the use of phones, Yamal himself shared a 1 minute video of the party on social media. The clip, which showed the opulent environment and its look inspired by the mafia, spread quickly and aroused a debate on online.

What really turned on the controversy, however, was a segment of the celebration that involved small people assumed, according to what was reported to the guests “entertaining”. The Spanish Association for people with skeletal disorders (Adee) responded with indignation, presenting a complaint against Yamal for unresolved behavior.

Spain has forbidden the performances received as deriding people with disabilities since 2022 and the new legislation, which was aimed on July 15, can impose fines up to 1 million euros (about 1.17 million dollars) for these violations.

As if the birthday party was not controversial enough, Yamal published another video the morning after the party, this time showing a vehicle in motion without a seat belt. Sitting next to a friend and filming randomly, the short clip triggered another wave of repercussions.

Although no official response came from Yamal or FC Barcelona, the clip raised serious concerns about his public behavior a few days in adulthood. Not wearing a seat belt is a violation of the Spanish traffic law and the fans ask the club to issue a guide or declaration.

In the meantime, before this sumptuous party, Lamine enjoyed a more private celebration with his family on July 12th.
