On December 29, the Jeju Air crash occurred, one of South Korea’s deadliest crashes in decades.
The plane, a Boeing 737-800, had departed from Thailand and attempted to land at Muan International Airport in southern South Korea.

South Korea has announced a period of national mourning to honor the victims, which will begin on December 29 and end on January 4.
