According to the Chinese media, including the China TimesOn February 27, the ashes of Barbie HSU were kept in their residence. Some neighbors have expressed dissatisfaction with this situation.

Previously, Barbie Hsu’s younger sister, Dee HSU television personality, said that Barbie Hsu had wanted an ecological tree burial. The family was preparing for this. However, the delay of the family in deciding in a final rest place has postponed the burial of the tree.

Koo Jun-Yup explained that an alternative burial site is considering instead of a burial of trees. He wants “an independent space in which he can visit Barbie Hsu at any time”. Consequently, the family is looking for a place to safely keep the ashes or erect a statue in its memory.

There has been news that Longyan, a renowned funeral company in Taiwan, had planned to donate 10 million TWD (about 400 million KRW) to support the burial. However, the company denied requests. The media of Taiwan et reported that the family in the end excluded the burial site offered by Longyan. As a result, Barbie Hsu and Koo Jun-Yup family are still looking for a suitable place.

With the ashes left at home for a month, some neighbors expressed discomfort. Meanwhile, Koo Jun-Yup has fought for pain, losing about 6 kg as he was unable to eat correctly from his wife’s death. He suspended all public activities indefinitely, including his programmed DJ performances, press conferences and fans’ meetings.

Koo Jun-Yup and Barbie HSU initially left the late 90s before breaking, just to meet and get married in 2022 after over 20 years later. However, Barbie Hsu tragically died on February 2 during a family trip to Japan due to pneumonia. After his funeral and cremation in Japan, his ashes were transported to Taiwan on February 5. However, a final resting place has not yet been determined.
