Previously, the film producer of Taiwan Wang Wei-Chung, a dear friend of Barbie Hsu’s family, has begged, “I received a request from Barbie Hsu’s mother. When the family returns to Taiwan with Barbie HSU, don’t take photos or follow them at the airport. This was the desire for Barbie Hsu’s life, so I ask for your understanding.“
Barbie Hsu died unexpectedly on February 2nd due to pneumonia linked to the flu during a family trip to Japan. His family has already completed the cremation process in Japan, where regulations require cremation within three days of death.
In the meantime, a photo of Barbie HSU taken a few days before his disappearance was leaked without permission, infuriating his fans.
According to the media in Chinese, at 15:00 on January 29, a bus driver took a photo of Barbie Hsu and his companions while transporting them from the airport to their hotel in Japan. On February 4, two days after his death, the driver released the photo to the public without permission.
In the controversial photo, Barbie Hsu is seen in the arms of Koo Jun-Yup, which seems visibly distressed. His lips seem violating, indicating bad health. According to a local guide, Barbie HSU has found coughs and asthma symptoms from January 29th.
Fans were devastated to see the image. Many expressed a crack, stating that even after death he continued to suffer from media intrusions, as he had done throughout his life. Among the growing criticisms, the driver in the end canceled the photo, but at that point he had already spread widely.
