Kim Seon-ho admits that he felt stunned by Go Youn-jung during filming

Kim Seon-ho shared the story during an interview held on January 22 in Samcheong-dong, Jongno District, Seoul, as part of promotional activities for the Netflix series Can this love be translated?written by Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran and directed by Yoo Young-eun.

Speaking about his chemistry with Go Youn-jung, Kim Seon-ho recalled how their relationship naturally evolved during the course of filming abroad.

“We were awkward with each other in Japan, but in Canada I got a lot of help from her and we became closer,” he said. “I was exhausted and tired, and she came to me asking, ‘Do you want some jelly?’ I think I was just overwhelmed by it.

He added that when filming moved to Italy, their bond had become strong enough that they could exchange playful banter. “We became friends enough to joke like, ‘Hey, Ju Ho-jin, Cha Mu-hee,’” he shared. When asked directly if he had ever felt genuinely nervous while acting alongside Go Youn-jung, Kim Seon-ho responded with a smile, “YES.”

He went on to praise her personality and charm, saying: “I think all the staff would agree that she’s extremely adorable. I joke that we tease each other, but that side of her is cute and adorable too.” Kim Seon-ho also spoke about being influenced by Go Youn-jung’s younger, Gen Z sensibilities. “It kind of gets inside you” he said. “At some point, I started looking for memes too. Once I started having fun, our conversations became a lot more natural.”

When asked what he thought of a woman like Cha Mu-hee, the character played by Go Youn-jung, Kim Seon-ho reflected from his character’s perspective.

“Cha Mu-hee was described as very adorable,” he explained. “When Dorami appeared, I thought it was really trendy and refreshing. From Ju Ho-jin’s perspective, it must have been a relief. After dealing with someone who avoids direct communication, meeting Dorami probably made him think, ‘Someone must be an interpreter here.'”

He concluded by adding that beneath Cha Mu-hee’s surface lies an emotional depth. “He has pain and a story of his own, so I thought about how to embrace him,” Kim Seon-ho said. “Rather than wondering if I could accept it, Ju Ho-jin tried to empathize with her, because he also carries his own wounds when it comes to love.”
