Kim Se Jeong is reportedly considering leaving Jellyfish Entertainment and has met with other agencies as her exclusive contract nears its renewal period.

According to Korean media reports on February 19, industry insiders say Kim Se Jeong has already held several meetings with different management companies to discuss his future activities.

He is said to be looking at offers from agencies dealing with both music and acting, while discussions focus on the extent of support for his projects, overseas promotions and long-term business plans. These talks are taking place as its current exclusive contract with Jellyfish nears its expiration date, according to soompi.​

Jellyfish Entertainment responded to the reports by confirming that Kim Se Jeong’s contract is about to expire but said that “nothing has been decided yet” regarding his next move.

The agency said it is still in discussions with her about a possible renewal and asked the public to wait for an official announcement. No timetable was given for when the final decision will be revealed and its future agency status remains unconfirmed

Kim Se Jeong first gained public attention in 2016 through the survival show Produce 101, where she placed second and debuted with the project group IOI. In the same year, she debuted with Jellyfish again as a member of the girl group Gugudan and released the solo digital single, Flower Way, which became a hit. Kpopping reported.

It subsequently joined Gugudan’s SEMINA subunit in 2018 and continued operations until Gugudan’s dissolution at the end of 2020.

Beyond group promotions, Kim Se Jeong has built a solo music career with mini albums Plant in 2020 and I’m in 2021, followed by his first full album Door in 2023 and single album Solar System in 2025.

She also became a leading actress, starring in dramas such as School 2017, The Uncanny Counter, Business Proposal and Brewing Love, gaining recognition and awards for her roles, as per KArchives.
