On September 13 (local time), Kim Go-eun attended the 49th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for the premiere of the film Love in the Big CityShe was joined by her co-star Steve Sanghyun Noh and director E.oni.
Kim Go-eun debuted a stunning new look, sporting a short haircut unlike anything we’ve seen before. She paired her short hair with an elegant white dress that revealed her shoulder-length figure, creating a chic and graceful look.
The film Love in the Big CityPresented in the TIFF Special Presentations section, tells the story of Jae-hee (played by Kim Go-eun), a free spirit who lives without worries, and Heung-soo (Steve Sanghyun Noh), who has mastered the art of distancing himself from the world. Together, they navigate their unique love story while living together. The film is based on the episode “Jae-hee” from Park Sang-young’s Booker Prize-shortlisted novel of the same name. Kim Go-eun plays Jae-hee, a character who goes from a carefree college student living in the moment to a working adult dealing with more serious concerns.
TIFF’s Special Presentations section features new works from renowned directors and actors. Previous selections have included Bong Joon-ho Mother (2009) and Parasite (2019), as well as Park Chan-wook The Handmaid (2016) and Kim Jee-woon The Age of Shadows (2016), all of which have fascinated both critics and audiences.
Love in the Big City had its official premiere and audience Q&A at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. A second screening and Q&A will be held at TIFF Bell Lightbox on September 14, providing further opportunities for audiences to engage with the film. The film is due to be released in theaters on October 1, a day earlier than originally planned.
