The drama is titled “One Hundred Memories”.
According to JTBC’s Jan. 9 announcement, “A Hundred Memories” is a period drama set in the 1980s, capturing the radiant youth and bittersweet first loves of bus attendants. The story intertwines romance, growth, humanity and comedy, focusing on the lives of three young people intertwined aboard Bus 100. The drama is written by Yang Hee-seung and directed by Kim Sang-ho, raising expectations with their collaboration.
The series portrays the feelings of the 80s. Kim Da-mi plays the lead role of Go Young-rye, a young woman who works as a bus attendant to earn a living while harboring her dream of going to college. Although she endures motion sickness on the bus, she perseveres with determination. Shin Ye-eun takes on the role of Seo Jong-hee, an energetic and lively friend who shares a close bond with Young-rye.
Heo Nam-jun was cast as Han Jae-pil, a man linked to both women. Jae-pil, son of a department store owner, carries hidden wounds and a complex inner world. The intertwined emotions of these characters, set against the backdrop of the era, are expected to deliver a deeply immersive experience.
This marks Kim Da-mi’s return to JTBC after five years of her role in “Itaewon Class.” The series achieved national ratings of 16.548% and metro area ratings of 18.328%, ranking fifth on JTBC’s all-time drama list. Kim Da-mi received wide acclaim for her distinctive performance in the show. Many are now eagerly watching to see if “A Hundred Memories” will once again create a ratings stir.
The production team of “One Hundred Memories” commented: “Even as times change, the glittering lives of young people who do not lose their dreams and hopes amidst the burden and struggles of life shine brightly. This is a drama that viewers can laugh and cry together with.“They added that the series will go beyond a simple love story to understand the difficulties and aspirations of young people of that era.
The broadcast of “One Hundred Memories” is scheduled for the second half of the year.
