At a bar in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Kim Bo-ra was interviewed about her appearance in MBC Death to Snow White – Black Out (right away Snow White). Snow White is a reverse-track crime thriller that follows a young man, accused of a mysterious murder in which no body was found, as he discovers the truth 10 years later. Kim Bo-ra plays the role of Ha-seol, a foreigner who enters Mucheon Village.
In an interview last April for the film Oksu Ghost Stationconfessed Kim Bo-ra, “I want to become a mother”. At the time, he said, “I am now 29 years old and many of my acquaintances are married. Looking at them I thought: ‘Isn’t this what happiness is?’ The process of getting through things together with someone you love feels like happiness, so I wanted to get married quickly.
Kim Bo-ra married director Jo Bar-eun, whom she met while filming the 2021 film Grotesque palaceafter three years of dating, with their wedding celebrated in June. Snow White it is his first work to be revealed after his marriage.
Regarding her previous comment about wanting to become a mother, Kim Bo-ra jokingly noted, “Just as students’ career aspirations change between semesters, my pregnancy plans have changed as well.” He added, “I think the idea will come naturally to me one day. This year I suddenly became interested in photography and started taking photos with enthusiasm.”
Kim Bo-ra shared, “I finally understood what truly makes me happy. I lose track of time when I’m in a darkroom. I became completely absorbed in taking photos and scanning them. He continued, “For now, I want to focus more on filming and acting projects.”
When asked if anything changed after the wedding, Kim Bo-ra responded“I have become more honest with my emotions than before. I feel that the defensive barriers I had when interacting with others have disappeared. He added, “I am also growing closer to my family and the process has been a learning experience. It was difficult at first, but now I’m overcoming the embarrassment and building confidence.”
Interestingly, he said he typically doesn’t discuss work with family or friends. However, after the wedding, he noted, “It’s nice that my husband works in the same industry because he understands quickly, even with minimal explanation. We help each other directly and honestly,“he said with a smile.
