On November 1, singers Jukjae, Nov, John Park and aespa appeared on KBS2TV’s “The Seasons – Lee Young Ji’s Rainbow” and shared various stories.
Host Lee Young Ji introduced the final guest by saying “This is their first time here. They are the first girl group to join us in “Rainbow”. Thanks to them, “metal taste” is trending everywhere. If you are low on iron, tune in now”, arousing enthusiasm.
aespa then took to the stage to perform “Supernova,” captivating the audience. Looking at the crowd, Lee Young Ji joked: “You’re really too excited. I’m getting jealous.”
She asked: “aespa is the first girl group to grace ‘Rainbow’, and I hear this is your first appearance on ‘The Seasons’. How does it feel?“
Karina replied: “I watched every episode of “The Seasons,” from Choi Jung Hoon to Jay Park and Jannabi to Young Ji. I guess we’ve been waiting for you, young Ji.”
In response, Lee Young Ji said: “I’m not sure I deserve such an amazing opportunity. I have a bit of a history with these four beautiful princesses, especially with Karina. We filmed “My Alcohol Diary” together and that video became the trending YouTube video of last year.” Karina expressed her gratitude, “It’s all thanks to you, young Ji.“
When Lee Young Ji asked the audience if anyone hadn’t heard “Supernova”, everyone sang along enthusiastically.
Karina admitted: “I didn’t expect ‘Supernova’ to be loved so much. I actually preferred “Armageddon”. Our favorite songs always seem to be the least popular ones.”
Lee Young Ji said: “‘Supernova’ broke many records. It is the longest-running number one song in the charts of the past 20 years, a song that set a new record for remaining at the top for as long as someone was born and became an adult.”
He added ironically: “I released a song called “Small Girl” in June 2024. “Supernova” came out in May and my song kept going up, but “Supernova” didn’t move from the top.”
Lee Young Ji also mentioned SM Entertainment’s tradition of giving aespa members unique “powers,” noting that Giselle could supposedly control light. When Giselle made a hand motion, the lights dimmed and John Park took the opportunity to rush onto the stage, performing Aespa’s “Whiplash.”
After John Park’s performance, Lee Young Ji asked Karina what she thought of his performance of “Whiplash.” Karina replied: “You are the sexiest oppa I have ever seen.“
Lee Young Ji immediately commented: “This is a flirty joke!John Park, pleased, nodded with satisfaction. Other aespa members joined in, adding: “You were fantastic.”
Lee Young Ji then mentioned the upcoming fourth anniversary of aespa’s debut, prompting Winter to reflect: “Since we debuted during the pandemic, the first 1-2 years have flown by so fast it doesn’t seem real. We didn’t have any audience then.” Lee Young Ji acknowledged aespa’s current success, pointing out how their world tour was taking over social media feeds everywhere.
