On the January 20 broadcast of the SBS variety show MooMoo X ChaCha The ballad of us Radioaespa’s Karina and TV personality Seo Jang Hoon turned out to be devoted fans of the audition show Our ballad. The episode featured heartfelt phone calls from celebrity fans and captivating duets and group performances.
In the segment titled “Hi, it’s me”, Seo Jang Hoon called first, sharing his deep appreciation for the nostalgic songs and the unique freshness of the songs Our ballad. He fondly remembered his first impression of contestant Song Ji Woo, saying her performance of “You let me go with a smile” pushed him to follow the show closely.
Next was a surprise call from Karina, leader of aespa, who gushed about her favorite contestants. He chose Jung Ji Woong as his first choice, praising his performances “Lie lie lie” AND “Annie.” She encouraged him with warm encouragement, telling him to keep singing and expressing her admiration for his voice.
Karina also showed support for another contestant Kim Yunee by revealing a personal connection. The two had trained together at SM Entertainment for about a year. Karina fondly remembered their apprentice days, calling Kim Yunee one of them “two most impressive singers” I’ve ever encountered at SM, along with Aespa’s Ningning.
“Yunee was treated like a treasure at MS,” Karina said. “I have always found her voice amazing. I have seen her go through so many hardships and I truly wish for her happiness. As a fan of her voice, I will always support her.”
His heartfelt message and genuine praise touched fans, highlighting the deep bonds and mutual respect that exist even beyond the competitive world of K-pop.
