The prestigious awards ceremony was held on December 30 at the MBC Media Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul, and was also broadcast live on Japanese channel KNTV. When the first part of the show ended, host Kim Sung-joo asked Kang Tae-oh how he was enjoying the event.
Kang Tae-oh responded with his usual charm, saying: “The atmosphere is really warm, it’s the kind of night that could warm even this cold winter.” But it was his sequel that really made headlines.
When asked about the atmosphere at his table, he joked, “It’s so hot in here I feel like taking my clothes off now.”
The bold comment caused Kim Se-jeong, sitting next to him, to burst out laughing and playfully slap his arm, while actor Jin Goo, also nearby, burst into loud laughter.
Realizing that his words had caused a bit of shock, Kang Tae-oh quickly clarified, “I meant my coat! Just the coat. The atmosphere is so warm,” cleverly transforming the moment into another comedic moment of the evening.
Both Kang Tae-oh and Kim Se-jeong were in the spotlight throughout the night as they were nominated for numerous awards, including the coveted Best Couple Award for their performance in the historical drama The moon flows on this riverwhich captivated viewers with its touching romance and emotional depth.
